In 2000, Renzo Rosso acquired Staff International, a gem of the Made in Italy industry, which develops, manufactures and distributes under license the collections of a range of international brands. He immediately started surrounding himself with a team of designers, that collaborated with him to turn Diesel into a global fashion icon.

The movie did receive positive reviews from critics and now the story, if only the partial story, can live on for audiences to see and so the names of these firefighters are never forgotten.Renzo Rosso established the Diesel brand in 1978 and in 1985 he took full control of the company. Similar to movies like She Said and World Trade Center, these were movies that were talking about the story of real-life tragedies that somehow were too late to tap into that emotional feeling but also may have come out too soon to the tragic events. It grossed $18 million domestically and $26 million worldwide against a budget of $38 million. This was four years after the events of the film and while the movie did receive positive reviews it was a box office disappointment opening at number 5 in its opening weekend with $6 million. Only the Brave opened in theaters on October 20, 2017. Aside from the park, none of this immediate aftermath is shown in Only The Brave as its primary focus is on the fire and the Hotshot crew's life the day of the accident. On November 16, 2016, the Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial Park opened to the public. On July 2, a public memorial was held at the indoor stadium in Prescott Valley, Arizona where Brendan McDonough attended in addition to Vice President Joe Biden and representatives from over 100 hotshot crews from around the country. The 19 firefighters that lost their lives are: Andrew Ashcraft, 29 Anthony Rose, 23 Christopher MacKenzie, 30 Clayton Whitted, 28 Dustin DeFord, 24 Garret Zuppiger, 27 Grant McKee, 21 Jesse Steed, 36 Joe Thurston, 32 John Percin Jr., 24 Kevin Woyjeck, 21 Eric Marsh, 43 Robert Caldwell, 23 Scott Norris, 28 Sean Misner, 26 Travis Carter, 31 Travis Turbyfill, 27 Wade Parker, 22 and William "Billy" Warneke, 25. In reality, every member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots likely had a story to tell, and the filmmakers chose these two characters as the central point of view. Yet the demands of a two-hour movie mean that not everyone will get equal screen time and much of the focus is put on Brendan McDonough and Eric Marsh.
While these two are the central characters of the film the movie still does try to spend time and focus on every member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and features actors like Taylor Kitsch, Ben Hardy, and James Badge Dale in those roles. The other central figure of the film is Eric Marsh who is played by Josh Brolin. Of the twenty men, only one survived and that was Brendan McDonough who is one of the co-leads and played by Miles Teller. Only The Brave honors all twenty members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. They were active for five years before they would tragically lose their lives. In 2008, the Granite Mountain Hotshots they got their own firehouse and became Crew 7 and helped fight many fires in the areas. These controlled burns create a control line that the advancing fire cannot cross. Hotshots contain forest fires by using fire to burn a line through the raging infernos fuel path. A hotshot firefighter who instead of using water to combat fires actually uses fire. They were trained under Eric Marsh, who is played by Josh Brolin in the movie. The Granite Mountain Hot Shots were formed in 2002 within the Prescott Volunteer Fire Department. Related: Best Joseph Kosinski Movies, Ranked Only the Brave focuses on the Granite Mountain Hot Shots firefighters, where nineteen of the twenty-member crew died fighting the fire on June 30, 2013. The fire began to be contained by July 2 and was declared 100% contained by July 10, 13 days after the fire had started. In just two days the fire went from 300 archers to over 2,000 archers.
A combination of sudden shifts in weather patterns, temperatures over 100 degrees, and drought intensified the flame. The Yarnell Hill Fire started on June 28, 2013, and was started by dry lightning. The story revolves around the real-life tragedy of the Yarnell Hill Fires.
